Congratulations to Unicard’s customers Transport for Wales and Nottinghamshire County Council – both shortlisted in the 14th annual Transport Ticketing Awards.
Transport for Wales have been nominated for Best Smart Ticketing Programme (<200k Daily Journeys) for their contactless EMV payment service.
Unicard’s Ticketing Hub solution enabled TfW to become the first UK train operator outside of London to deploy cEMV services, which allows passengers to use a payment card or mobile device to tap in and out at ticket barriers at the start and end of every train journey.
Nottinghamshire County Council’s Ukrainian Ticketing Scheme is shortlisted for Best Equity and Inclusion Initiative.
Unicard provide the smart ticketing infrastructure which manages the council’s English National Concessionary Travel Scheme for elderly and disabled people. We adapted that solution to extend the scheme to Ukrainian nationals who have been welcomed to the UK as guests since the start of the war in Ukraine.
The award winners will be announced at the Transport Ticketing Gala Dinner & Awards ceremony in London on 4 March.
The awards are taking place as part of this year’s Transport Ticketing Global event on 4-5 March in Olympia London.
You can visit Unicard at our stand to find out more about our latest innovations, including our ITSO and contactless EMV products.
Transport Ticketing Global is the world’s leading event dedicated to smart ticketing for public transport, and more than 1200 smart ticketing and mobility professionals are expected to attend this year.
